Clancy is a software and database developer, research analyst, writer, trainer, instructor, coach and mentor whose career spans over 28 years. As a full-time researcher at the University of Dayton (UD), he developed teleconferencing, fracture mechanics, environmental, and Web-based software for commercial and government clients. He managed a group of information technology (IT) specialists and mentored dozens of undergraduate and graduate interns.
As an adjunct faculty member, Clancy taught undergraduate and graduate courses in the UD Computer Science department and School of Business Administration and was frequently engaged to lecture and train for internal and external clients, including an 11-city nationwide tour for the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency. Other speaking opportunities have included radio and television appearances, co-hosting a live talk radio program, public address announcer, guest lecturer for other Ohio colleges, and guest speaking for clubs and non-profit institutions.
Clancy is an accomplished writer. The diversity of a university community and an active personal lifestyle have led to diverse writing opportunities such as: editorials, legal agreements, users’ manuals, proposals, white papers, show scripts, technical specifications, press releases, newsletters, personal blog, project reports, Web site content, writing, mission and vision statements, technology articles, organizational by-laws, course materials, and sports articles. He was first published in Sports Illustrated at age 16. He is completing his first book, called the ABC’s of Professionalism due to be published in 2009.
Clancy currently teaches part-time in the local public schools with a special emphasis on leadership development. He volunteers for community organizations and is active in his church, including worship leader, church musician and four terms as council president. Clancy is an entertainer and musician, having performed in person for approximately 500,000 people. Clancy is partnering with the DBL team to bring their unique capabilities and programs to the United States.
