Description Understanding how to coach is a pre-requisite for Management and Leadership. The process of coaching, while complex, is easily learnt. There are some basic principles that are often overlooked by a coach in the work context. These are the abilities of the coachee to identify the performance measures that are expected; to agree that these are realistic and achievable; to understand how to measure their shortcomings against these agreed standards and how to develop an action plan. The Programme links the coaching process to the development of a set of performance indicators and shows how the coaching process can be utilised in the process of carrying out performance appraisals.
Outcomes The participants will come away knowing how to set clear performance requirements, linking these to the job description and competencies required. The programme further shows participants how to allow coachees to measure these and then construct a coaching conversation. Participants will come away with a structure that they can use in the workplace for their personal appraisal performance.
