Description Participants hear success and failure stories of innovation. Learning is shared and there is a collaboration of ideas from reading. The program builds a continuous learning culture within groups. Share and celebrate success and failure stories in applying new learning; and Reflect on the Blueprint for Change and make new commitments.
Outcomes • Understand the definition of "creativity vs intentive" and learn the characteristics of innovation • Look at the characteristics of good problem solving techniques using cause and effect diagrams and question techniques that will identify the real problem. • Discover their own creative talents and how they can be utilised within a team. They are introduced to the Medici Effect where differences are encouraged and celebrated as innovation occurs at the intersection of differing cultures, disciplines and personality styles. DiSC may be revised or introduced. • Look at how both sides of the brain are used to generate suggestions. They will learn various techniques that assist in developing new ideas; how to take those ideas onto the next level and evaluating which ideas move to concept testing. • Be exposed to the failures of great people and companies who have gone on to make great breakthroughs. They are encouraged to examine the way they respond to mistakes, to accept responsibility for their mistakes, to use humour to overcome and to learn from them. • Look at the comfort Zone and how failure to move out of this zone impedes creativity and innovation. Participants are encouraged to set goals and “stretch” out of their own comfort zone. They are also introduced to the coping with change model that identifies emotional responses to change and how appropriate levels of stress actually assist in optimum performance. • Identify and plan celebrations, taking into account differing behaviour styles. Description This interactive workshop covers 3 inter-related modules leaving the participants with heightened self awareness as a foundation to attaining specific skills and tools in understanding other people, establishing and building relationships, networking and building a personal brand. As a framework, the modules use a simplified version of the DISC model of behaviour.
Outcomes •Participants are aware that in the workplace, we need to adapt our communication and relationship building styles to different people with different beliefs and behaviours. There is no ‘right’ style; there are only different styles for different people. •Participants explore different behavioural styles using a basic version of the DISC behavioural model to gain a higher understanding of themselves and other people. •Participants take away introductory ideas on how to apply this knowledge in the workplace in terms of building relationships and a personal brand. •Participants explore the importance of networking and making the right first impression at work with the right body language and 4 easy to remember conversation starters. •Participants understand the 5 do’s and don’ts of social networking for professional purposes. •Participants learn how to get remembered (for the right reasons!) in their interactions with competitive, outgoing, amiable and analytical people in the workplace. •Participants learn that their strongest personal brand is formed when they are true to themselves, not when they are trying to be someone they’re not. •Participants understand that they might not be perceived they think they are, meaning their personal brand is not necessarily what they think it is. •Participants develop 3-4 fun, authentic personal brand personas that build on their strengths and weaknesses and they can develop over time to take their personal brand to the next level.
